Mr. Mansur-Ur-Rehman Khan assumed the charge of office as the Chief Executive, The Institute of Bankers Pakistan on Friday, March 15, 2019. Mr. Khan is a seasoned central banker, with more than four decades of central banking experience. He brings with him a rich diversified expertise of having served in the State Bank of Pakistan as a Deputy Governor overseeing a string of strategic departments, which included Corporate Services & Research Clusters of the Bank, comprising of Human Resources, Business Support Services, Information Systems & Technology, Finance, Payment Systems, Training & Development, Treasury Operations, Museum & Art Gallery Departments and Economic Advisor’s Office. Prior to his being entrusted with the responsibility of Deputy Governor, he was Executive Director (Banking) and oversaw the working of Banking Policy, Banking Inspection and Banking Supervision Departments. Besides, he has also served as a Director on the Boards of House Building Finance Corporation, Small Business Finance Corporation, Pak-Kuwait Investment Company, as a Member on the Policy Board of Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Board of Pakistan Security Printing Corporation and on the Board of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Mr. Khan holds a Masters’ Degree in Mathematics as well as a Degree in Law and Professional Qualification of DAIBP. He was also a Committee Member of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) as well as Chairman/Deputy Chairman of different working groups and was instrumental in preparation of Islamic Financial standards. Mr. Khan is a qualified director under Code of Corporate Governance 2012 of SECP.
